We also visited a rice noodle factory and had local breakfast soup and fruits from the floating markets included in the price. At first, we booked a shorter trip approx. 3 hours, but the ride, and especially our guide Thao, were so amazing that we agreed on making the tour some two hours longer. We could go on 2 floating markets and see the sunrise on the river. We did many more activities too like breakfast on the boat, degustation of fruits and discovery of the creation of rice noodles... The guide speaks very good english and answers all your questions about food, culture & people. Very interesting. He chooses excellent streetfood with special dishes and he adaptes the tour if you have any special wishes. You pay for the food that you eat - between 10'000 and 70'000 VND. In the end you choose how much tip you give to the guide. The tour is very authentic and I'm sure that you will enjoy a lot. As a vietnamese I was afraid the tour was going to be superficial with familiar dishes like goi cuon, pho or banh xeo. But the opposite was true. Thaoi surprised us with mouthwatering local dishes just like yummy beef in clay pot see picture. Scoop whenever they’re available you can you don’t have to eat fried mice from the rice farm! He's a fun guy to hang out with and will show you some cool places to eat and breaking away from the 'regulars' such as Pho and Banh Mi. Can recommend this to everyone visiting Can Tho! The name is derived from its look like an elephant’s ear. This fish is deep fried at high temperature with the scales on. After cooking the scales are removed and the fish is crispy outside and moist inside. Thoai is a very kind and knowledgeablen guide who speaks excellent English. He showed us places which we wouldn't find on our own, spoke about the background of each places and food, and also demonstrated how should we eat the food rice muffins in mustard leave and spring rolls. We were so happy to have our guide Tran who showed us places we could never be able to find by ourselves. The food was delicious and we have some opportunities to taste more exotic things like rise field mouse prepared with lemongrass so tasty! and couple of other things.
